What is that Spark all about!

Friday, April 12, 2013

Yeah, as many of have come to realize, we know and understand that what we need to Spark ourselves is inside! But we should also know that sometimes that source can become depleted. So the reserve survival tactics need to be kicked into gear! The best survival tactic is to recognize when we are becoming over burdened by stress or by the consequences of poor decisions that start rolling toward or over us to give us a wakeup call to action. The best first response that I know of is a call to the troops to come to our assistance! Pride and self reliance is not always the best recourse. Yes we can wait until we are stuck at the bottom of a pit and hope that someone wanders by who we can discretely get the attention of to help pull us up out of our predicament!

But personally, I think it is better to recognize when we are headed towards trouble that we realize we can't avert on our own and then send out a flare for assistance. Kind of like knowing the ship is going down and shooting out an SOS instead of waiting until the sharks are circling you as you tread water wondering when a boat might happen by that you might be able to call out for help and hope you get their attention

So again that Spark needs to come from within. We must get rid of the self defeating pride and learn to call out sooner than later. That internal Spark can be used to produce and external act of good and healthful actions like a call for help or leaning on friends that are willing to help!

Just like taking a bridge over a huge canyon (to avert our unnecessary struggles and burdens) to get to where we want to go, a call for help can make it easier if it is the better path that we choose!
There is always some one willing to help and point you in the right direction to avert those troubled times and so you don't get lost or stuck in an unneeded situation!

Oh yes! I have finally found myself a buddy, and it was just at the right time too...just when I felt I couldn't go on any longer. I'm so grateful she recognized my need and stepped in to help. Yes, the spark does come from within...the work comes from within, and sometimes we need a little ignition from outside.

Cheers,

Sand

I think you've encapsulated one of the best things about the community here. There are always people who are willing to help when we're struggling and that goes a long way in helping us to get back on track when we falter. Lots of us have a natural tendency to turn inwards when times are tough, but taking that first step to reach out to others is probably the most important one we can take to help get our heads back in the right place.
