Spreading the Spark!

Friday, April 12, 2013

Several things have happened recently that call my attention to the positive changes I've made. Yesterday I went to a seminar and won the big door prize (really made me feel like I was in the right place, more on that in another post). I've also been getting a lot of compliments lately. Not just about my appearance, either. This past Tuesday my daughter's horse-riding coach said she'd never noticed how pretty my eyes were before. Someone else last week said something nice about my smile. Just little things like that but they mean SO much!

I've also recently noticed a whole lot of people in my apartment complex walking several laps around the parking lot. These are all people who have said hi to me and noticed me when I'm walking. Whether it's my spark spreading or just the change in weather bringing more people out, it's really nice to see!

I've told quite a few people about SP and always tell them "If nothing else, use a nutrition tracker!" I've only gotten points for one referral and it would be nice to know if people are joining but that's not what matters. The important thing is to get that ember ignited. It might have to sit and simmer for a while before catching (I didn't start using the tools for about 8-9 months after I signed up) but it has to be there before it can ignite!

Spread the Spark! It'll not only make someone else Spark but it will make your Spark all the brighter and more powerful! It's one of those wonderful things that the more we share it the more we get for ourselves!

I've noticed that when I use the nutrition tracker, it keeps me honest and makes me realize how much I am actually consuming, so no more mindless eating. I also didn't seriously use SP until about a year after I joined. Happy Sparking! emoticon emoticon

Did you know that eating healthier makes your hair, eyes, teeth, and gums all look better and brighter? As you're shedding the pounds you're also making changes to your body that aren't so noticeable unless you really pay attention.

Have you considered asking some of the other walkers if they'd be willing to do some kind of walking club of some sort? It might help all of you to have some friends to walk with. It would also be some additional support for all of you. You might even put up a sign in a common area to ask if people want to get together to walk and talk then put a date/time/place to meet up. You could put info on SP on there as well, along with your screen name. There is, after all, the ability to set up a private team on SP if people are interested!

When people stop focusing on your weight, they notice the other things like your eyes!

Keep up the good work and keep spreading the Spark.

Make Today a Great Day!
