The snow finally ended

Thursday, April 11, 2013

I woke up to about 5 inches of snow on the ground. Everything was still
covered in ice but the day warmed up enough for it to slough off and now
most of the trees look like the worst is over. I shoveled at the office before
the snow plow cleared the street so most of that snow was taken away.
There are so many branches laying on the lawns. Some very beautiful
trees are not looking so beautiful now. But we have electricity, which is
more than most of the farmers can say. Some have been without power
since Tuesday and may be without for another week.
I spent most of the day answering phone calls about possible damage
from branches falling on houses and garages. So far, most sound like
just minor damage.
I am working on more new quotes for insurance and have 3 done and
a long list to do. It is time consuming but at least I am not bored.
DS called with plans for an early spring half-recital next February. He
sounds so excited. He might try to have it just before Christmas break
but he has lots of time to plan and practice. He'll know if and when he
is ready.
Sounds like the kids will have school here tomorrow. I know DD wants
to get out on time but may have to teach a few days after graduation.
One more day to the work week and I am planning my strategy
for the weekend. I;ll let you know what develops.
Have a great Friday and thanks for stopping by. HUGS!

We got your weather last was freezing rain form yesterday morning on...and we are the only ones on the road (6 homes) that kept electricity through it. We are truly blessed that we are the newest home and are on a different line!

Have a wonderful day, Marsha!

Glad you still have your electric, what a bummer if you were without this with all that snow. Hope you have a great weekend. We are having torrential downpours & sharp lightning & thunderbooms.

I sure hope the worst is over now and we can move on to warmer days! This is sure getting old (but I remind myself of the last year's hot and dry summer and we certainly don't want to see that repeated.)

Have a great Friday!

I am happy for you that you have your power, that truly is rough when the electricity is off! I am hoping for warmer weather for you soon!

Glad you still have electricity. It's the pits not having any especially when there's ice and snow around. Not fun. I have nightmares of the Ice Storm of 2009 still so I know how bad it can be.
Hope you have a fantastic week! emoticon
