Happy Pre-Friday!!!!!

I have always had bad eating habits. I love sweets and salty foods. But when I was younger I was more active in sports and always going out. Then when I start a job where I sat all the time the bad eating habits caught up to me. Now that I have a different job where I am out of the office doing home visits I am more active. I am also now eating more fruits and vegetables. This bring me to my question for my Sparks Family. Now that I am eating healthy I am fighting it hard to meet my goal of daily calorie intake. Don't get me wrong I am eating 3 to 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day and I am not hungry. But I worry that if I don't have the calories that I need for my body that it will not let go of the body fat. Has anyone else had this problem or I am just being silly and worry for nothing??? emoticon

Your body needs a certain number of calories to function properly. You will not lose weight if you deprive your body of what it needs. Starvation mode will lead to your body conserving fat stores and that means no weight loss.

Like other posters have said, add some healthy snacks to your meal plan, such as peanut butter and whole wheat crackers, string cheese, non-fat yogurt, skim milk, or turkey lunchmeat. This should get you to the calorie goal you are looking for.

Great advice already given. But it can get challenging getting in calories when you're eating bettr. Add some protein and fiber that should give you a few extra calories. I like the fiber one bars, tasty and takes care of my sweet tooth craving too. Not sure if you're eating mini meals or not but if you divide your calories allotment for day into 5-6 mini meals you'll probably consume your calories better. I try to keep my meals at 300-500 calories per meal. I know if I skip a mini meal that I make a mental note to up my calories on other meals. Depends on my workout for the day as well.

Definitely eat within your calorie range and not one bite less. SP taught me that. I used to eat less than 1,200 calories a day and was not loosing a pound. I could not figure out how it could be, but, it is very true. You must eat to loose.

Enjoy!

You are most definitely NOT being silly to worry about that. I get caught in that trap all the time because my brain things less is better, but then the scale doesn't move. Don't fall into that trap!

No you are not silly to worry about it. When I do not eat my alloted calories, I do not loose weight. Depending on how many calories you need to meet your intake, choose a healthy snack like, dole fruit cups with 100% fruit juice, fat free yogurt, multigrain cereal, almonds, fat free popcorn, or skim milk.
