Slowing down a little bit... to go faster!

I have a head cold :( It sucks! I haven't been sick for so long I forgot how much it sucks. I really don't want to be sick again for a long time. But right now I'm thinking, maybe it's a really good thing to slow down on the workouts for a week or so. I went for a run on Tuesday, took yesterday off and today I'm just going to do a little walking around the neighbourhood. I wonder if stopping exercise for a good spell could help me to lose weight again. I was stuck for a whole month at the same weight though I was exercising more, and more consistantly and at a more challenging level. I tracked my calories and ate flawlessly... yet the scales didn't budge! And no my jeans didn't get looser either. Then I stopped exercising so hard at the gym and did more home workouts for spring break because I couldn't afford to put the kids in the gym daycare and I suddenly dropped 3 lbs!
Maybe I just need to take a break, a little slowdown, then get back to the gym workouts again. You know how when you first start exercising and eating right all this weight suddenly falls off for the first couple of weeks. Well, if I took more breaks, maybe more of that will happen? In any case, I don't think it's bad for me to slow down while I have this cold even though when I weighed myself I was up 2 lbs. I'm pretty sure that's just water weight from the TOM. Anyway , just thinking out loud.. :)
