Finding time for exercise is stressful!

Thursday, April 11, 2013

I am going to start with a quick blog entry this morning.

I just want to say how difficult it is to make time for exercise. I have a to-do list that is out of control and a life that is beyond busy. With ironing up to my eyeballs; laundry, dishes, house cleaning, shopping, cooking, running kids to all the activities, attending concerts, visiting colleges with my 18 yr old, AND working a full-time job....(Not to mention a husband who wants my company after he gets back from his 13 hour a day job.)

I now know I wasn't crazy when I was saying it is near impossible to find time for exercise. Something else isn't getting done because I am opting to go take a walk. (i.e., I have a stack of laundry that has been waiting to get dealt with for 3 days now that NEEDS to get done.)

I'm still exercising, however. I had better start seeing some good results (Please Lord????) so I can prove to myself that the sacrifice of the stress of not getting things done that need to get done, is worth it.

Who does ironing - LOL - ME! At least 2 hrs a week between my husband's work clothes and mine. He works in a job that require nice looking clothes and we cannot afford a dry cleaning bill. (That makes me laugh.)

I really am working to get this in - it's very challenging. Funny thing is I have been living at this level of insanity for years - and been doing it. Just no exerise.

Even if you can only fit in 5 or 10 minutes at a time, something is always better than nothing!

For housekeeping help have you ever tried FlyLady.net? My house is far from perfect but it's usually only "15 minutes of messy" as opposed to the hours of drudgery I used to have to put it.

Sounds like you are running yourself ragged and trying to do it all!! You are not Superwoman (although us Moms' like to think we are) Maybe you can delegate a few of those chores to family. If hubby wants your time perhaps he can pitch in a little or take him on a walk with you that way you get exercise and he gets time with you. You need to make time for yourself or you will get overwhelmed and then... crash and burn. Don't forget about YOURSELF in the mad scheme of things. You are important and sometimes dishes, cleaning and laundry can wait... who does ironing anymore anyway? emoticon Take some time for yourself to stop and smell the roses!
