A blustery day...

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Well, the rain finally fell today. We had thunderstorms last night and through the day today. Reminded me of the old Winnie the Pooh movie. I did manage to time Cooper's walks today so that we didn't get very wet. Not that I planned it really, it just worked out that way. I also kept his walks short, so my mileage was way down today. I decided against going to the gym today. I ran Monday and Tuesday, and I will go to the gym and run tomorrow, so I thought that was plenty. I don't want to overdo. (I know, I know... pretty funny coming from me, right?!) I did get on the rower a couple of times though. My neighbor bought me dinner tonight. I was going to cook, but she wanted to order out, so I got a salad. I always get the dressing on the side, so I know how much is going on my salad. Otherwise they drown it in salad dressing and it gets all slimy. Yuck!

It is supposed to rain through the day tomorrow, but I will get to the gym. Sometimes getting to the gym is the hardest part of my workout. I have to convince myself to make the walk in whatever the weather is doing out there. Some days I have to fight my inherent laziness and desire to curl up with a book. Okay, most days I have to fight that battle. lol! I wish I could get and stay mentally and physically healthy without all the effort. I always feel better after working out, but...

I had the hardest time the other day getting my pups walked. Raining in the morning, windy & rainy at noon. Sprinkling around 3P, so I walked emoticon over to Golden Corral for a late lunch/ early dinner. Finally got the pups walked near sundown - I have blinky collars that are for bigger dogs - they fit around my little pups middles. Nobody can say they don't see us coming!

Looking at your blogs, I would never consider you lazy. I really struggle. If I could lose weight and get healthy without the exercise, I would be the first one to sign up with that program. I always feel so much better after getting out for my walks, but it's so hard to get me out there until I get it in my routine. It's usually much easier when the weather is nicer and I can be outside. Spring can't get here soon enough.

I have that fight with myself quite often, too. It's never as bad as my brain thinks it will be, but I haven't gotten to the "Okay, let's get up and go" mind set YET. But I notice a difference since starting the thyroid meds. I guess there is still hope for me??? But I'm talking about getting up and walking a mile. Or doing my version of treading water for 45 minutes. Your light days are my nightmare.

I know! I wish it wasn't soooo much effort either -- I am totally sore ALL the time. But it's really worth it, right? WHO wants to go back to the way we were? NOT ME!

emoticon I wish I could get and stay mentally and physically healthy without all the effort. I agree!

We often get rain here in the spring, so I watch for a break and then get out there.

I hope you are having a good week too!
