7,500 Beautiful Steps at the Tidal Basin, Washington, DC

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Today I walked at the Tidal Basin in Washington DC (I live near by) to experience the cherry blossoms on a beautiful spring morning. There is a hush there when the blossoms are out, a reverence. Even though there are thousands of people wandering the paths.

I thought it might be fun to share some photos.

And here, a little iPhone experiment. The first photo of me taken by me:

I had a wonderful morning and I hope you found beauty in your life today too!

Thank you for the beautiful memories. We always enjoyed that time of year in DC. We used to bike in on the W&OD trail.

Toni, thanks for the heads up on your cherry blossom pics! I MUST get there one year, at the right time. I want to be the guy with the easel painting the scene, lol. I also want to walk under those blooming trees!

During all those years that I worked in downtown DC, every year a few of us would walk down to the Tidal Basin and stroll around during a long lunch hour. You never get tired of it. I wish all walks could be so beautiful.
