Found a great deal...

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

and joined a gym. For 20.00/month I'm able to use a gym in town, and get discounts on things like massages and other services that they provide. What's nice about this gym is that they open early so that three days a week, DJ and I can workout together, which we did this morning. On the other two days I can drop into a group class for only $6.00 at a time. They even offer yoga classes!

I think that going 3x a week with DJ to use the machines (today was cardio day, we used the elliptical and treadmills) and alternating a BodyPump or spinning class at the gym across the street from our apartment with a class at the gym downtown might be doable. I really wish that the gym we just joined had BodyPump and spinning, but 9.00 a class for those two isn't a deal breaker. Besides, it's always good to mix things up!

Like I said before, today was a cardio day-20 minutes on the elliptical (my knees hurt!) and 20 ish minutes on the treadmill made for a sweaty morning. But! My shower never felt so good. Friday is an arms day for us, and I'm not very excited. I have to work from 2:30-11:30 Friday, BUT there's a really great massage deal going on this weekend-a 1 hour massage for 20.00. Granted, it's by massage students but a massage is a massage. And I think that's a great incentive to kill my arms and back!

We also bought a scale today. And once I set it up, after having a large lunch and running around today, stepped right on it. UGH. I'm going to weigh myself again tomorrow morning, before I eat or workout, and use that as my starting weight. Whatever it says, I'm more inclined to believe it over the weird scale at work.

@Brittturtle: I REALLY lucked out, the 20.00/month is for a specific time period every day-from 6am-11am, otherwise I'd be paying 30.00 a month (which still isn't bad!). The early hours work best for me, since I work 2:30-11:30pm full time, and DJ wants to be able to work out with me too.

That's awesome. I wish gym memberships were $20/month here!
