What they say about the English is true

We have really got a thing about the weather. Take me, for example. When I got home from work this evening, I went to look at the weather forecast. I've been doing this twice a day for six months. This is what the Met Office said for Sunday:

For a moment, I genuinely did not take this in. I sort of thought the forecast for Sunday was part of the page border or something. Then I looked again. Then I went to look at the other weather forecast, the one on (always good to get a second opinion and this one's always better) and this is what that one said:

Then I hopped round the sitting-room (still got a sore foot) laughing like a maniac.

Now I'm just off to plan a wonderful walk for Stonecot and me. It will be short, because of my sore foot but we will be looking for spring flowers, fleecy little lambs, warm breezes and blue sky.

You can all look forward to photographs of the glories of the English countryside in spring.

Don't even THINK about mentioning how changeable the weather is this time of year.

Funnily enough, here in south Texas it was HOT yesterday, and I was discouraged because I had convinced myself that we would have no cool weather again until November. Then this morning I woke up and it was actually cold and windy. By cold, I mean 50s F. I was very pleased! It is in the 40s tonight and we are having a fireplace fire, probably for the last time this season. I hope you have a lovely walk!

it's supposed to be nice here on Sunday too.
But it's April and the winds do change (I didn't say anything about the weather changing). LOL
Please take care of the foot. And enjoy your walk for lambs and flowers.

Thinking about fluffy little lambs bouncing in the fields is something I don't usually do unless it has rained with thunder and lightning all day. After a while it goes get a tad mind-numbing. Hope the foot doesn't give you much grief on your next walk. emoticon

Ah the weather a fickle mistress, when living in NZ we never looked it up to check what was coming we just enjoyed the day, but after moving to Australia it has become a 'must do' 'must talk about' 'must know' subject.

so yes we have no life now :)

Enjoy your walk can't wait for the blog.

Oy we went from 70's degrees (Fahrenheit, you know me, can't translate/convert temps!) down to freeeeezing 30's this morning, have ice covered my was-just-about-to-bloom-flowering-c
rabapple-tree, now I may be lucky if any of them bloom this year? And two limbs broke off our ornamental pear. I forget what it's called. I've been calling it "bradford pear" all day like a silly dunce but I don't think that's right. It's not a pear that you eat - it's just the pretty flowers. Oh well.

As they say in Kansas....if you don't like the weather, wait about 5 minutes and it will likely change! Yesterday was awful, dropped like 15-20 degrees in less than an hour.

Spring is coming in fits and starts.
While away at work, 2 pink flowering pear trees opened in full bloom,
the forsythia bush up the walk erupted in yellow blossoms,
amd the daffodils waved a cherry hello to be as I walked home.

My Dad was from England, just an aside.

Hate to burst your bubble but we have temps of 86 here today in Maryland---little too warm for this time of year but we are enjoying it---and my tulips have buds on them now, my daffodils are all in bloom, the winter pansies look lovely , and I have the cooler weather crops in the garden bed.

Yesterday, the weather here in Texas ranged from a high of 35 F in the northern portion to 107 F in the southern portion. Today a 'cold front' came through Central Texas with badly needed rain and temps dropped rapidly by over 20 degrees. Our lakes and wildflowers will benefit.
