What they say about the English is true

We have really got a thing about the weather. Take me, for example. When I got home from work this evening, I went to look at the weather forecast. I've been doing this twice a day for six months. This is what the Met Office said for Sunday:

For a moment, I genuinely did not take this in. I sort of thought the forecast for Sunday was part of the page border or something. Then I looked again. Then I went to look at the other weather forecast, the one on guardian.co.uk (always good to get a second opinion and this one's always better) and this is what that one said:

Then I hopped round the sitting-room (still got a sore foot) laughing like a maniac.

Now I'm just off to plan a wonderful walk for Stonecot and me. It will be short, because of my sore foot but we will be looking for spring flowers, fleecy little lambs, warm breezes and blue sky.

You can all look forward to photographs of the glories of the English countryside in spring.

Don't even THINK about mentioning how changeable the weather is this time of year.

I am looking at the weather daily as well but for the reason we will be traveling from our southern, winter home, to our northern home and it seems to not want to stop snowing there as well as nasty weather inbetween the states, like tornadoes and high winds! I do enjoy be well informed weather wise!! Glad I'm not the only one!!

I'm looking at the weather forecast, too. I'm looking ahead to Saturday the 20th, and the forecast changes from day to day. There's a 25 Kilometer race that day, and for the first time I'm going to do it. Will it rain or not? What will happen that day? So I can understand you looking at the weather report.

Enjoyed a couple Spring-like days here, now back to winter again. Spring is definitely slow in coming-staying this ear.

There's something about sunshine that really perks up the spirits and makes you want to be outdoors. It has seemed like such a long winter that sunny days are a real blessing.

Enjoy your walk and share with us all.

Love your blog and love hearing about England. Here in NEW England we are doing the same thing, yesterday was almost 65 (F) and today is about 45 (F), but I 'm getting out there in my garden, love the spring!

Careful walking on that bum foot.

After 3 days of rain and 4 more forecasted, I look forward to the pictures of TRUE Spring in England. I only wish that I was there walking with you instead of wearing a raincoat, carrying an umbrella and dodging puddles and mud!!!!!

Wherever people live, at least in temperate zones, they believe they have the most changeable weather.

For example, I now live in New England, and the folks here (who don't get around very much for USishes) believe so. I'm from Chicago, and the people there believe the same thing. I've also lived or worked (for extended periods) in the UK, California (Northern & Southern), Iowa, Ohio, Texas, Colorado, Georgia, Detroit, and Florida.

By far, CO has the most variable weather. No other place I've lived even comes close. But, on the whole, the weather there is mild. compared to the Midwest. The summers are not usually too hot, bugs are seldom a problem, and the winters while sometimes snowy, are not nearly as cold as Chicago, Iowa, or especially, Minnesota. The snow is also less of a nuisance (especially compared to New England), because it tends to sublime rapidly rather than melt. The big issue in CO winters, is black ice, because salt cannot be used on the roads.

Chicago and Iowa have the worst weather. New England has moderately bad weather that is exacerbated by insects (black flies and mosquitoes) in the late spring and summer.

What the UK has, is a general lack of sunshine. It approximates Detroit in this, in my experience, but Detroit has far more severe winters.

Enjoy the sunshine, if you get any. Precious, little, here, in New Hampshire, today.

Oh my, and I should have taken it that page three was becoming more modest! LOL

Please take a drive through the cotswolds and midlands for me please.(one should use a Windsor and Newton tin of watercolors to sit by the riverside and paint the scenery)..and have a lovely picnic at the base of the hill or on the island at Warwick...absolutely lovely!

And don't forget a sticky bun caddy cornered from Banbury Cross...wonderful little shoppe there....

I can't wait to see your pics. Hope your food doesn't give you too much trouble! Maybe you should rent a wheelchair and she could push you LOL! Or maybe you could rent a power wheelchair. Of course, if you run into mud it might get bogged down. Then you would both get a strength training workout trying to get it out of the mud. Course I'm just joking! Glad you are supposed to have good weather!

I just got a new how to attract and watch birds.
While your out catch some English birds in your camera when you are able.
I never tire of exploring the natural world.
And they might be different than the ones I see Here in Sacramento.

Keeping an eye on the weather is important for anyone who likes to walk. Dressing for weather conditions is vital for a good walk. Today it is snowing/freezing rain in Toronto. ARRRRRRGH! Canada eh. I hope your walk is great, injured foot and all.
