As someone who has been a mostly vegetarian for over twenty years, I would recommend starting gradually. Go meat-free one or two days a week then add more days and see how it feels.
It took me ten years to completely give up meat. I occasionally eat small amounts of fish. Allow yourself to grow into your dietary changes. The all or nothing regime in any dietary change will most often fail. Be gentle with yourself if you slip back into old ways occasionally, Remember this is an experiment not a test.
I would never go back to eating meat. It has completely lost its appeal to me. There are so many delicious vegetarian and vegan choices that will satisfy both your need for nutrition and your desire for pleasure. Have fun!
I've been eating without meat for a little while, or eating meat very rarely, and opting for mostly local dairy products. I think I'm leaning more and more that way. :) I just feel like it's better for the environment and for my body. 1651 days ago
