Think About It (Mindless Eating)

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

Something so very inspiring from BOOKWORM27S who wrote :

"... Once I started looking at food as nothing more than fuel for my body, my emotional eating got under control.

I would ask myself when I wanted to eat mindlessly; "Why are you wanting to put "fuel" in a "gas tank" that is already full?" You would not go to the gas station and pump gas into your car's tank when you had just filled it up moments ago?

Once I got that visual in my mind, it seemed silly to keep eating when I felt no physical hunger.

I also ask myself the question; "Are you eating out of true hunger or just opportunity?"

This mindset takes time..."

Your visual is truly great. I often worry I am not allowing for enough fuel. It's hard for me to guage if I am hungry because I haven't eaten enough or I am eatting for another reason. I usually do my tracker and if it tell's me I need more of something I eat more and if not I drink lots of fluids and call it quits on eating.

I have gone for many years of starvation dieting that my body is totally confused. It's all a part of trying to eat healthy and normal (if there is such a thing).

Thanks so much!! emoticon
