emoticon My dogs don't get much in the way of "people" food. They are not fed from the table. When I'm fixing dinner, they do get things like baby carrots,
red & green sweet peppers, apples.

No grapes either !! If unsure, don't give it to them.

Unfortunately, I've met people who - even after hearing how dangerous chocolate can be for dogs - still insist on giving it to them simply because they always have and just didn't see a noticeable problem yet.

I encountered a woman at a town fair once who was feeding her little poodle in her arms pieces off a Hershey dark chocolate bar. Alarmed and concerned for the dog, I quietly and politely asked her if she knew chocolate was dangerous to feed dogs. She told me I didn't know what I was talking about, that dark chocolate was healthy and to mind my business. Well, I typically do mind my business unless I see something that might have harmful or potentially fatal results. Unfortunately she didn't care. I can only hope that she complained about me to someone else who also knew the dangers of chocolate and maybe they told her.

I don't take any chances like that with my furbaby.

Definitely! Had a dog who ate a LOT of my kids' Halloween chocolate. Had to induce vomiting to get it out of his system. He made it through, but was not happy!

Thanks for the information.

Yeah, I am glad someone told me this when I first adopted my 1st dog child. She wanted some and I was about to give it to her, thank you human mommy for telling me. But these are good reminders.

Chocolate and dogs are just a bad combination, but a good reminder!

I had heard this years ago. I don't think I ever gave my dog any.
