I would like to thank the spark members who responded to my blog yesterday. Because of them I have better and more useful information about my condition. Because of their responses I now have more tools to help deal with my tinnitus. I have learned that tinnitus can be part of a cycle that is hard to break. Tinnitus-depression-sleep problems-stress. So what I am trying to do is avoid depression, decrease my stress and improve my sleep pattern. So far I am doing well with the sleep pattern and stress. And the information helps with the depression. Knowing more about the tinnitus both decreases the stress/anxiety and depression. One member also gave a link to an interesting web site where there were examples of sounds that are caused by tinnitus. When I played 'shriek buzzing' it hit home on my tinnitus but afterwards I was free of the tinnitus for about 10-15 minutes ~ weird!

Steven, you never cease to amaze me. I'm impressed by the way you were able to identify that tinnitus-depression-sleep problems-stress cycle - that's exactly what I experienced when I first got this "goodie." You and I are alike in that the more we know about something we're grappling with, the better we're able to cope. I'm going through some new medical "stuff" right now and just came across some brand-new research on it this morning. It's not encouraging, but it may ultimately prove very helpful. Keep on keepin' on! You're doing a stellar job of it. emoticon

I'm not sure if you want to check out the there are many symptoms of lyme along with the ringing I'd get the feeling of being in a tunnel, joint pain, depression, stress makes everything worse, I get eye pain, bad headaches, sensitivity to light.
Not sure if your getting tested for it, but if all the other tests show nothing you really might want to look into it.
If you do go to the you might want to read faces of lyme and see the symptoms and see if your have any others.
Good Luck, I hope you feel better soon! emoticon
