Need a little help

Tuesday, April 09, 2013

OK i Know i'm a motivator.. but even i need a swift kick in the butt of motivation some times..

OK some know i'm doing an Ironman this year in July.. It's heavy into cardio endurance training.. I've had to give way on some of my strength training. I NEED to start doing it again.. it's the only way i'm going to lose the 18 pounds i had to put on for training.. since i was at 130, my dr made me put on 20 so i'd have a calorie buffer for training since i struggled to keep weight on last summer while training.. So I NEED NEED NEED some help and motivation to start losing and getting back into muscle building gear...to be healthy as well as a purely vane reason of heck i have pretty spring and summer clothes that aren't fitting.. and i want them to fit again.. lol..

So if you read this and can shoot me a line or 2 to get my butt in gear.. I'd appreciate..

Until tomorrow peeps.. Make it another great day!

Write a plan for ST or find one like on JELF. I did really well for 2 months and then life got in the way. I need to get back to it too. Now that the weather is changing you may be more motivated. get going!! emoticon

I would be very careful making changes this late in your training. Rather than start doing the strength training, you may want to do some caloric adjustments Alternatively you could add a some lighter strength training to your regimen. - Adding strength training this late in your training program might potentially be a recipe for disaster (aka injury) and you don't want that this close to your event.

You're awesome! If you can do an ironman, than you can squeeze out a few extra sets with the weights!

I also struggle with consistent strength training, so I'm focusing on bodyweight exercises I can do anywhere, anytime. Push-ups, squats, a resistance band...just bought adjustable kettlebells. I know that's not as "satisfying" as being able to pump iron and track the numbers, but doing SOMETHING is better than nothing.

I know you will rock the Ironman. Spark on! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
