Yea, though I walk by the shadow cast upon the floor by the deli case, I will fear no evil…

Thought it would be fun to take the well-known and dearly loved Psalms 23 and attach a personal weight loss journey to it for fun. Hope you enjoy!

Psalm 23
A “revised” psalm by Rachel.

The LORD is my weight loss counselor, I lack no desirable food.
He makes me lie down in spite of my desire to overeat;

he leads me beside the cooler water tank at work,
instead of the pop machine, ahhhh… thus refreshing my soul.

He guides me along the right paths of my local park
for his name’s sake and my good health, I find them, walk them, and don’t get lost.

Even though I venture through the most fattening, most sugar laden aisles of my local grocery store, I will fear no sting from a box of cookies, a bag of chips, or a pound of lunchmeat, for you are with me; your gentle leading and your big smile of approval for me, they comfort me.

You prepare a big, fat table of abundant living before me
even in the presence of my enemies; not one fails to notice the great work you've done in & for me.

You anoint my body to become like yours, a lean, mean, fighting machine
the bubbles from my cup of juice infused seltzer overflows.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, this certainly in part by partnering with you to make good choices, and then when it’s all said and done, I will party with you in YOUR mansion eating all good things I desire forever and ever and ever.
