Is this normal???

Tuesday, April 09, 2013

Last week, I couldn't find enough food to keep my belly satisfied. I was ravenous from the time I woke up until the time I went to bed, and sometimes was waking up with hunger pangs in the night. I have been using the babyfit meal plans and even ran them by my midwife for a nutrition consultation. She said the plans were perfect. I couldn't get enough water last week, and I had insane cravings...particularly for canatloupe which I devoured for two days. This week, however, I barely want to eat. I have no appetite for water at all, and barely an appetite for food. I don't feel sick (other than my mind-numbing, blinding migraine I had for 36 hours yesterday and the day before). I just don't want to eat. Is this normal? Should I be worried? I really do feel fine...just not hungry this week. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. emoticon

Sounds pretty normal to me! I remember the up and down of crazy hungry days vs not hungry days.

I don't know how you can even think about food when you have a migraine which isn't good news its dragging on so long -sorry to hear that -I have another Spark friend who gets them so bad she ends up in emergency getting shots for them :( Try to eat your most favorite food, preferably nutritious. Put water bottles throughout the house where you hang out and just sip from them throughout the day until they are gone. Perk them up by adding a shot of lemon. I have three reusable contigo bottles which equals 9 cups, and they are emptied by the end of the day, although with workouts its not hard to want more water.
Hope you feel better soon!

FYI Pregnant does not and can not mean normal. In fact I had no pregnancy the same or any month the same. Id get use to feeling one way and then the feelings would change...much like life when that bundle gets here. As long as you are not going all day with nothing to eat...try eating soft food or cold food or soup or a smoothie. You will not harm the baby by eating less when you feel bad. I know women who eat nothing because they are constantly nauseous and lose weight and still have great babies. Drink when you can. Just ignore the only cravings that you have for junk or sugary treats. Those only add on unnecessary pounds. But, get use to your body feeling strange. That bay grows and so goes the hunger. Be sure you are getting healthy fats and lots of rest. You are normal and doing fine.

I think that's pretty normal. Hormones are crazy during pregnancy, and just think about how TOM hormones normally go - you have a few days where you can't get full no matter what, followed by a few days where you're not hungry at all. I think in the end, it balances itself out. Don't worry too much about it. :)

Are you tracking your food? When I'm hungry it's usually because I didn't eat enough calories.

I take it you are pregnant. If so feelings like this do occur. If you are really worried about it run it by your midwife. DO NOT STOP EATING PROPERLY OR DRINKING YOUR WATER. NUTRITION AND HYDRATION ARE ALWAYS KEY. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
