This blog is indeed wonderful-- I want to remember this.

Oh, Truhart, I was such a fan of Leo Buscaglin-- He was known as the "Love Doctor" because of his beautiful teachings about living a life of kindness and LOVE. His books are treasures.

  sharing a favorite quote :)

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around ~ Leo Buscaglia

Sparking & Sparkfriends is like that for me...

It reminds me of one of the "rules" I have posted up for myself: "Guard your words and actions". You can never get a re-do on either.

This one message says it all, and inspired me to do a web search where I found many verses in the Bible that totally agree with this. Here are just a few of them:

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

Matthew 15:18 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this (can) defile a person.

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Proverbs 12:18 There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Proverbs 16:24 Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.

Matthew 12:36 I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak...

This is such an excellent reminder! I watched a video (The Interview with God) and one of the slides it showed said "It takes just one second to hurt someone with words, but can take a lifetime to heal."

Hugs! Have a good Tuesday.

Excellent words of advice. We must learn to think before we speak.

How full of wisdom you are early in the morning! I am trying to put those words into my daily life...yet I find it hard to do at times. I always preached to my kids "If you can't say anything nice, Don't say anything!" Easier to preach than practise... emoticon
