My Spark

Monday, April 08, 2013

I needed to revisit what I did last spring, and remember that feeling.
Yesterday Caleb and I did some volunteer work for our Local no kill shelter, the were having a 5k and a fun run and needed race marshals and all around help.

I will be the first to admit I have lost some of my initial spark and I need to reload it. So there we were at the start/finish line of the 5k. What a big sense of anticipation and excitement.

We saw people from all walks of life, from the 5 year old to the over 80 year old. All different levels of fitness. At the start of the race and the initial burst of speed you could just feel, the excitement, That was what I was missing the excitement, less than 19 mins later the first runner was on his way back in, wow what a great time and what joy he had as he held is arms up over his head as he crossed the finish line! Again there was that spark, it was growing inside me again.

The mins were ticking by and other runners were coming in how about the little 10 year old who was struggling but as soon as I told her the white tent was the end and she could do it she said I think I can and really hit it hard. How about the 80 year old man, heck he finished in 26.13 what an amazing time!

By the time the last runner crossed the line at 61.27 a physically challenged 72 year old my Spark had reignited!

Today, I was at that same park following that same race course, feeling that excitement of yesterday! What happened I had a PB I came in at 26.04 never have I run that fast. I was always about a 11 min girl today 8.4 min!

Welcome back Spark you have been missed!

One last thought:

sassy out!

How fabulous!! What a way to get your Spark back. I think this journey is a lot like a marriage or any relationship. We have to work at keeping it exciting and new. Seems silly but like everything, sometimes we get complacent or just in a rut. :)

Love you gorgeous! You rekindle my Spark often.

Your blog is just what I needed, my flame has been pretty low and it's time for it to grow into a raging bonfire. Thanks!

Lori-That's a great blog! Thank you for writing that. I have been really struggling with my spark lately. My flame feels as if it's fading. It's good to know we all feel that way sometimes & as long as we keep pushing our little spark will burst back into a flame as long as we don't quit looking for it. Hugs

I felt like my spark was beginning to fizzle out, but this was a great way to reignite it. (I have been slacking so much this past 2 weeks)
You help keep me wanting to do more. Thank you

That's awesome that you found your spark. I'm still striking the match daily to keep mine burning, and wanting to be as committed to getting healthier as the example you are setting. So keep doing it wonder girl and we will all try to follow your example! After, I knew you could do it, you taught me, well you and Killian! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
