Still busy!

Monday, April 08, 2013

Yesterday started off really slow, then the motivation set in about 3 pm. I ran with the dogs. I did my squats and strength training. I spent 35 minutes punching the bag and jumped rope.

My little girl muscles are really sore today. I think I did too much too quick. I've been trying to spread things out more today but it's not working.

I had to work a half day today. We lost power about an hour before I was supposed to leave. I didn't get done half of what I wanted to finish. Then it was off to a meeting at the boy child's school.

Still trying to get help for my son once high school is over. We met with vocational rehab today. I'm hoping it wasn't a waste of time. I NEED to get him on disability and get guardianship. I have to tell you, I don't know how ANYONE does this. The kid qualifies but I can't get through the initial stages unless I want to takes DAYS off work and sit in the office. Sorry, I can't do that we need to eat.

I did a bit of stress eating earlier. I stuck to good foods (except two fig newtons). I don't have much left for dinner tonight. I'm going to try getting way with just some salad/greens. I'm hoping it is enough.

I'm waiting for a friend to go on a dog walk tonight. Hoping to leave shortly. Might be an early bed night. I'm really hoping for a slow/uneventful day tomorrow!

Going through the disability system is going to be an adventure at the very least! Get a good disability lawyer that specialize's in disability or you will be wasting more time!

It is a very tough job, and you have so much on your plate already. I don't know why there is always so much red tape, when they know the need is there !!

So glad you did get out with the dogs, and made time for yourself to get in some exercise. I'm sure it was a good stress relief, especially punching that bag. :)

Have a great evening, enjoy your puppies !!

I hope everything works out for your son. I know, from working in education and special education, how much of a worry that transition is for parents. You and he are in my thoughts and I am sending you my very best, most positive energy.

It seems like the school should have a transition person available to help you help him. I know at my school we have someone who comes in around a students freshman or sophomore year and starts working with them so that they can make a smoother change from high school to out of school. There has to be someone that could help you, it's just a matter of finding that person.

My sister had a similar problem getting SSI for her daughter. The struggle for her was because she graduated from a public high school (she failed every year, but was still passed to the next grade), and honestly, she could not pass a single test, she is legitimately mentally retarded (policially incorrect ,I guess)
Anyway, after her daughter tried several times to work at a slow adult center, she could not take to any job at all, cannot live alone, etc. finally got SSI - but it took quite a while.
Hang in there, it is worth all the fuss in the long run.
Good Luck to you and your son!

It is frustrating to see sooooo many people on disability (etc.) simply because they don't want to work . . . when soooooo many people who really qualify and should get it, can't get it.

Hope you have a peaceful (less stressful) day tomorrow!
