Too Much Too Soon?

Monday, April 08, 2013

Monday is once again. And it's a cloudy, windy, showery kind of day here. I slept better last night, the back pain seemed much better both last night the this morning. So I, in my infinite wisdom, decide to hit the gym at lunch. I didn't over tax myself (or at least it didn't feel like I was), I still did 50 mins on the treadmill but at a slower pace (3.0 MPH) then I have been doing it. I got done, grabbed a hot shower and headed back up to my cube. And you know what? My back is killing me! So I'm left to ponder...did I do too much, too fast? Or am I just being a baby about a little pain? It hurts most when I take a deep breath. I have taken Motrin IB for it and I'm hoping that helps. If it doesn't it's going to be a long drive home tonight! emoticon

Hubby is getting around much better today. He can get out of bed by himself, even do some light cooking (for his lunch), shower alone, etc. He also is starting to some light PT that the Dr says he needs to do at home. I told him he needs to do them other wise he'll be in even more pain at the real PT next week. All he has to do is bend over and swing his left arm slowly. emoticon

I'm suddenly tried fight now. I know I did sleep better last night. Oh wait...sugar rush! I had some jelly beans! The rush must be wearing off. That would also explain the slightly nauseous feeling right now too. I so have to stop the sweets between meals! emoticon

Well...I guess that's going to be it for me today. Have a great one everyone!

Give Chuck a big hug for me and tell him I'm keeping you guys in my prayers. Do you put the treadmill on an incline when you walk? I had an email answer back from one of the Spark Coaches about the difference between the treadmill and walking outside. She said the treadmill does not make you walk the way you normally would, that the incline should be set to at least 1-2% even if you have to slow down a little bit. If you tweaked your back helping Chuck, maybe that would help a little bit? Hope it's feeling better today. Hugs, Calen~ (OMG! I think I'm caught up!)

Sorry to hear that your Back is giving You Problems. Try using a Heating Pad on it. That might help. Maybe some very light stretching or exercises. Or give your Back a Rest and No Exercising for a couple of days. Keep moving. That will help. With Back Pain You Hurt all Over. I hope this helps. Sound like Your Husband is doing very Well. Make sure He does all the Exercises prescribed by His Doctor. It will affect how good of a outcome He will have with the Shoulder. Get some rest and sleep. God Blessings to Everyone. Have a Super Nice Day. Take Care. Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
