a busy week

This last week was SO busy with the grandsons. I worked my regular shifts, plus some, and still found time to spend outside with the kids. We went out on what was supposed to be a 1 mile letterboxing walk that turned into a 2 hour hike up and down hills. When you have to try and keep up with 2 very excited little boys on a hike, you really find out where you stand stamina wise. I must say, I didn't do too badly. Of course, they were marching in place while waiting for me to catch up, and running up hill and down waiting for me to make it to the top. But, I did it!
On the flip side, my eating wasn't that great. I had more french fries this week than in the last 2 months. And Taco Bell. And candy ( it was Easter after all lol). I've been drinking a lot of water and even got my full 8 glasses in two times this week, which is a first.
When I got on the scale this morning, I prepared for the fact that I probably gained weight. To my surprise I actually lost a pound! Woo Hoo!! And to really make my day, two people I don't see often commented on how they noticed I had lost some weight. Wow.
It's been a slow, hard, and sometimes disappointing process losing the 15 pounds I have since the middle of January. Just a little comment or a lost pound help to motivate me to keep on going. It also motivates me to check on my sparkfriends and read the blogs of people going through the same things I am.
Give me a little time and who knows how much I can accomplish!

    How cool to think that your commitment is paying off. It's those everyday choices that make all the difference, not the occasional indulgence. So long as they stay occasional. emoticon
    Good job, 15 lbs gone is a lot! Check out the 100 lbs image on my spark photo to see what it looks like. It is A LOT!

    Woo Hoo congrats !! Two pounds is a ton of weight !! I am so Happy for you , its funny how when we relax the weight comes off !! That Hike and the water really did it !! Nice memories that you made with your Grandsons !! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Hugs Karen

    Oh, you will accomplish much, keep your focus. we didn't gain the weight overnight and it takes time and commitment to get where we want to be. But you most definitely can do it! emoticon
