Well here we are again at Monday. This week I'm not working as much!
So I'll have more time for ME!
This weekend we celebrated my step daughters birthday. It was 2 weeks ago but this is when we could have the party for her. It was a weekend long deal that had her having a facial, a massage, and getting some cool gifts.
Saturday was swim class for me. I haven't been to swim class in about 3 weeks. Due to birthdays and Easter, and I haven't swam in the pool on my on either. This MUST Change!!! So I went and swam in lane 2 again cause I wanted a simple work out. There are new people in that lane, and so the pecking order begins again. It wasn't long before I was the lead person in the lane. It felt good and I was surprised that by the end I was wishing I had been in the other lane, as I felt I didn't get as hard of a cardio work out as I could of.
Saturday afternoon we had planned to go for a bike ride. The weather here was very unstable. With threats of thunderstorms, and high winds. In the end we decided not to go. As soon as we make the decision to not go the sky turns blue and the sun comes out. As if to taunt us. Then an about 2 hours later all HAIL broke loose! Ya we chose wisely to stay home.
Sunday we had planned to ski. Donut man wanted one more ski day. I want/need to do a long run. My last long run was the 15k St Patricks day. On ski days we get up at 5:00am. Sunday I woke up at 6:00! Looked at my husband and asked.. Did we sleep in? He said NO. He got up at 5:00 checked the weather forecast, they had high wind and blizzard like conditions for the ski area we would be at. So he came back to bed.
This news meant I could do a long run. Oh but the weather out side was still unstable and quite windy. Pre core here I come. OK the thought of 2 hours on the precore in my garage is a little bit um boring I suppose. My secret. I have an iPad. I don't listen to music in my everyday life. It's hard and complicated for me. I can listen to it on my iPad with youtube. I find the songs that I like that have the words on the screen. I can then read them and hear them at the same time. It works. It gives me a visual, and well and hearing distraction for during my runs. So I created a play list to have going for the 2 hours and away I went.
At the end of the 2 hours I had run 11 miles, ALL two hours registered as VIGOROUS on my body media! I had up the resistance level on the precore to 6, and felt good and strong on that level. The first 1:45 felt almost easy! The last 15 (the longest I've ran this year) was a bit hard and I had to push thru it. But I did!
We had thought again about a bike ride but the weather was still unstable and we had more hail and thunderstorms come thru about the time we'd have been out on the bikes.
Today is Weights, Swim, and bike day!
Tuesday is: Hike, and Track
Wed: Weights, Swim and maybe bike
Thursday: Base Run (out side)
Friday: Rest (and possible swim, I will miss it this weekend)
Then we are back to the weekend!
We are going camping!
Saturday 35 mile HILL Bike ride! WHOO HOO!
Sunday there is a 7 mile waterfall hike we plan to do, I may do a 3 mile run also.
And possibly a 12-15 mile bike ride.
So now you all know.. I will check in next Monday and see how I did at sticking to my plan.
