Sharing a motivational technique that works for me.

Staying on the road to getting and staying healthy in mind, body and soul can sometimes be difficult. There are road blocks at every turn and holes in the road to get over, sometimes there is a detour. I have been on this road to getting healthy for more than half my life, and I am not finished with that part yet, that is still down the road. When I get there, I will start the next part of my journey, staying healthy. This time I will stay on that road and learn from the mistakes I made when I got that far before and had to start over. Not this time! One of the road blocks/detours are from family members that I know love me but don't really understand what a healthy journey is. They go on diets when they want to, it isn't a lifelong journey for them.

My motivation is that I am doing this for me. I am getting and staying healthy because this is what I want. On Wednesday March 27th I stubbed my toe on a curb and fell down forward. Most injuries (pain) were on my right side. I couldn't work out and it was hard to sit on a folding chair to eat and bend right knee. Sometimes I wanted to "comfort me", yea, emotional eating. A couple of times I ate watching TV. Sometimes I was so tired and in pain I wanted to give up until I healed but if I ate more and didn't work it off I would gain and not just weight, that is just a number. I would feel it. I realized that this was a set-back and not working out wasn't a choice, it was necessary for healing but my choices of eating was my choice. Now I am back to working out and I am happy with me for not getting off the road.

My motivation technique is to remember: That I am doing this for me. I am getting and staying healthy because this is what I want.

I hope you are feeling better and able to move without pain. emoticon for not giving in to no movement and for getting yourself out of the emotional eating rut. Just be careful to not aggravate your injuries.
