Getting back

The last month has been tough for me-
I finished my coursework for my PhD program (4.0 GPA- Yeah!)
Then my Mom visited for a week (Lots of eating out)
My birthday
My brother and his wife visited (more drinking and eating out)
And I finished it off by getting sick.

I did lots of walking with the visitors, but not as much running, and getting sick totally derailed my program. Thus- I gained a few pounds. I am back up to 169, where I was 166 at the beginning of the year.

So, I'm back on the wagon. I'm still not over my cold, but have forced myself to get up and get running. I did a 5k yesterday (My 4th of the year- I'm planning on doing at least 13!) and ran again this morning.

I'm incorporating more strength training into my daily routine, and after my run today did some butt blasters, plank transitions, twists and crunches.

I'm hoping to be totally well soon- and can't wait to get back into the swing of things!
