Crazy Calories

Counting Calories ?? Good or Bad.. It works for me.. Prior to my journey I would order large calorie filled meals, and not count them at all. I knew better but my head was not ready to work hard for a better life. Now my head and my body are in it ! A meal out or in can be 1000 calories up to 2000 or even 3000 !! That is just crazy !! Well going forward I am an official calorie counter and proud of it !!!! Whatever it takes !! emoticon emoticon

    It makes a big difference to me for sure! I work with a girl who is very fit but still enjoys eating things that aren't the best for her. Fortunately for her she is so active (she completed the Lake Placid Ironman last year) that she usually burns off what she eats. Recently she got engaged and since she hasn't been training, she wants to lose a little weight and has started counting calories. She is struggling everyday with the calories she puts into her body because she had no idea of the calories in her favourite foods. Of course she also wants to go out for lunch and eat Buffalo sauced chicken fingers and french fries!

    I find that knowing how many calories I'm consuming (and knowing that they're balanced) makes it easier for me to stay motivated since I know how many calories I'm burning when I exercise. It becomes a numbers game with me to make sure I stay within range.

    Congrats! I think it's great that you've made the switch to calorie-counting guru. I haven't made the complete switch myself, but I am more aware of calories, fat, and carbs than ever before. Learn something new every day. Have a great week!
