So how did it all go?! Well, I managed to do fine with exercise, with treadmill time and walking, I came in at oaver 126% of my weekly 70K step goal. I only didn't exercise on two days, one I was completely wiped out and the other was after getting back from the travelling yesterday, but I still managed over 8000 anyway.
Eating, I kind of let it go, but I had a good time and really don't feel that guilty. I did try to make the best choices that I could... but there were lots of amazing treats... and I indulged more than I would like to admit. I had plenty of morning where I didn't wake up hungry. But I am already back on track today, actually coming in under my calories by quite a bit. So I made a plan and was at least aware of my going off track... but I also tried to stop eating when I was full and not busting at the seams, which I was mostly successful at.
The good news is that I got plenty of rest and relaxation. It was so amazing to go and not have to worry about the usual day to day stuff. My shoulders don't feel like they are creeping up around my ears now. And that has a value all of its own.
I really really like the Pacific Northwest, especially Seattle and Portland. I hope we can work out moving there in the next 18-24 months, which is our plan. I love the idea of living in an area with a narrower weather band. I think that I can adjust to the rainier weather if I can just get outside.
I was disappointed that we couldn't go to Mt Rainier... my dream was to hike the park to a certain extent... the problem was that we would have had to have rented snow chains just to get into the park AND the trails were muddy and slick, as well as socked in by fog. Sniff. We did make it to Multnomah Falls outside Portland, it was beautiful. The GREAT thing is that we went up the switchback trail UP 0.2 mile and I wasn't even winded getting up there. I hope to go back and climb all the way up to the top next time. It was pretty wet on the day we went... so slick and rainy, we felt best to limit ourselves to the lower half of the trail.
So eating, not so great, but not disastrous... exercise was good, quite good. Not a complete loss. Tonight here at home, I ran 3.15 miles on TM with 5 minute walking warm up and cool down.
Back to life, back to reality... sigh.
