Third Shift Woes

3rd shift is playing hell on my eating habits. It's quiet, so I get bored. I get bored, so I eat. I've not gone over my calorie limit, but I'm definitely eating things I wouldn't otherwise.

Tonight I'm taking some healthier snacks AND a list of projects I can work on if I get bored.

Always something to learn...

    I have always liked having something to read or puzzle books to keep my busy, but I so know what you mean. It is either so busy you don't know which direction to go next or so the "q" word that you need something to do.

    great plan keep your hands busy and you will not eat. i love that idea. third shift is hard on the body and soul i wish you luck. my husband loves third shift, has done it all his working life.

    Great plan !

Night shift is rough on eating habits. I worked it for years and got into the habit of eating unhealthy snacks too. To combat that I started taking only healthy snacks to work and I also made it a point to get up every hour and walk around for 10". That kept me awake and kept the snacking to a minimum.

    At least you have noticed that you aren't eating things that you would normally and deciding how to tackle the problem. 3rd shift is almost done with for a while. Hang in there! emoticon emoticon

    Prior plannign van help. pack your snacks and healthier options. When my husband worked 3rd shift he used to walk laps around the building on his breaks.

    I often work the 3rd shift too and know what you are talking about! It's hard not to snack when you are so bored on the night shift:)
