Last night, I went to sleep with an “uh oh” on my mind. It’s the end of Spring Break. School begins on Monday, so Sunday is the last day to get EVERYTHING ready before school starts again. It’s the last mad dash to make sure: laundry is done, food is ready for next week (both lunch and dinner), the house is clean, and lessons are ready for tomorrow (yes, I did that one BEFORE I left for break!!).
But as got up, instead of feeling dread, I felt relieved. I even smiled!! I had made plans the Saturday night and got up and went straight to church (7:30am). As soon as I got home, I worked out. Then I had a little lunch and took a little rest.
Soon, my daughter called and brought my granddaughter Elia by. Seeing her always makes me smile and today was no exception. We changed clothes and went to the store. Watching her watch the world – she’s only had the ability to see everything for about 4 months now – from the floor to ceiling to even her hands, is always such a blessing; that always makes me smile.
So sure, last night I had a little panic. Last night I was sad because the gloriously quiet, terribly uneventful (un drama filled) week is over. But as Dr. Seuss would say “ . . . smile because it happened.” Today with purpose in my heart, I could smile.
Well, it sure has been nice talking to y’all today. I hope we get a chance to do this again real soon. In the meantime, “ten mucho cuidado” means “take good care”. I hope you do. And have a blessed week, while you’re at it! All the best!
