Updates and Ramblings

I am supposed to be showings properties, but one got an offer already and my buyers are still not pre-approved. So, I get to sit here for another hour until I have to meet some other buyers. Unfortunately, I had already gotten ready to leave (make up and all), so that kind of leaves out working out unless I just do some basic walk it out and don't sweat. Which I may do.

It looks like my son may actually have a job. Well, he will work 4 days a week. Three days he is working for a guy that opened his own generally contracting company. I guess my son would be his assistant. Ben had been helping him work on the house of a friend of mine and the guy works really well with Ben even with Ben's disabilities. He explains acceptable and unacceptable behavior to Ben and why certain things need to be done. Ben will be working with him 3 days a week. Then one day a week he will go to my friend's house to just do home maintenance items her husband used to do before he passed away. Because of this, I have decided not to change his job coach at DVR as Ben just needs a part time job now. We have a meeting with his DVR counselor on Monday.

Work has been crazy busy, but it has been kind of fun. I started when the bottom dropped out and have never been in a market like this. I love the negotiation part of it and keeping the deals together. I don't do well with freak out buyers or sellers. I let my sellers have it last night and she has finally chosen to listen to me.

I think I have gotten my exercise on a good schedule. I am making sure to take days off at least 2 - 3 days a week and I am still losing weight. I don't hurt anymore. That part is good. I have been careful with my eating. I am working really hard to cut out the alcohol so I don't waste the calories.

Update on JC. He is still on stall rest. The abscess is up in his foot so they can't soak it. They have to keep it wrapped in medicated bandages. This could take several weeks to heal, so it is probably good he picked a time when I am really busy. I was hoping to get to see him this weekend, but it doesn't look like that is happening. I will stop out one day next week.

Those are my updates :)

The situation with your son sounds ideal, how lucky he was to find someone so patience and kind. I hope that works out for him. Glad to hear you are keeping on track during such a busy time in your career. Get used to it girl, when you're good people flock to use you as their realtor. Alcohol is hard to cut back on, isn't it? I've struggled and struggled with that. If only they'd come up with calorie free cocktails! Best I've come up with is a Dark and Stormy made with diet ginger beer. But still, I've come to realize that drinking is not good for my health and am really striving to just stop. Our culture makes that hard, doesn't it? Plus, I will admit, I like a good buzz now and then. Smooths out the edges. But you'll figure it all out, you're a smart lady.
Hope the horsey gets well fast!

I am so happy for you. You are finding the balance you need! WOOHOO! Glad work is going busy and well. Sorry about JC still being on stall rest, but maybe this break will help you get everything in place for when he's better.

Also happy to hear Ben is working. Hopefully this will turn out to be a true blessing where he is free to learn and feel independent.

Glad that Ben has found a job! Also neat that you are so busy with your job and the pick up in the market is a new experience. Too bad about poor JC but like you said, at least he is choosing a time when you are busy at work. Glad that you aren't hurting anymore! Remember to take care of YOU in the midst of all this! emoticon
