Secret of my success !!!

I want to share what helped me to lose my weight. Mostly it was motivation. Here are three of the things I did to help me stay motivated and why.

1. TAKE PICTURES OF YOUSELF: Not just your face but your whole self. I believe what you see in a picture is not the same thing you see in the mirror. When you look in the mirror you see what your minds eye sees. Looking at yourself in a picture is more real. NOW as you lose weight (say every 10 to 15 pounds or so) have another picture taken. You get to see the changes as you go along. MOTIVATION !!! (take a look in my photo gallery to see my progress pictures)

2. BUY SMALLER (PASS THROUGH) CLOTHING AT THRIFT STORES: As my clothes became baggy I would go to thrift stores to buy inexpensive clothing because I knew I wasn't finished losing. I call them my pass through sizes. I passed through 18, 16, 14, 12, until I got to 10. Buying smaller clothes, MOTIVATION !!!

3. CHALLENGES: I joined many Spark challenges along my journey. These challenges were not against other people. They were challenges for me to better myself. My favorite is my "virtual trip". I click off milage on my stationary bike. I aim for a certain place. MOTIVATION !!!

I encourage everyone to try any of these things or search out what it takes to keep you MOTIVATED. It can be done!!!!!

    You are so right about pictures being different to how you see yourself in a mirror. My clothes are bagging on me right now and I feel fabulous, then Thursday I had to go shopping for new underwear including a sports bra. I got to see myself in 3 mirrors....yikes enough to frighten the life out of me. But when I see myself in a photo I cant believe I am that heavy. I dont feel that heavy because my diet is so super healthy now. But photos dont lie.
