Well, we're certainly getting the "April showers" here in Northern California! I'm not complaining, though, because we certainly need it.
I have a dinner guest coming tonight, a co-worker. I'd invited her and her husband but he works on-call and got called so she's coming alone. The menu is meatloaf, herb-roasted baby potatoes and citrus-glazed carrots, with "apple dumplings" and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I'm giving her the extras of the pastries and ice cream to take home for him.
I'm not looking forward to this next work week. We've got auditors in the office, and we all walk on barbed wire while they're there. They can find a typo from ten years ago and call you on it. The bosses are as strung out as a cat on uppers, so of course we catch the brunt of it. Well, they're going to be there through Thursday. Friday we can hopefully relax.
I just finished breakfast (Irish oatmeal -- yum!) and I'm watching Luke Nguyen's Greater Mekong. Luke is adorable, but I've never understood his propensity for cooking outdoors in the rain. Cute but puzzling -- doesn't the rain put out your cook-fire and dilute your broth? Goodness, there's even thunder! I enjoy thunderstorms, but I'd be safely indoors, thank you very much.
Time for another cup of coffee and some knitting.
