Exercise today

Saturday, April 06, 2013

I was worried earlier today when I realised my feet really needed a rest from walking. My initial thought was NO, I don't want to break the streak (short though it may be) and make a mess of the exercising each day. Then I decided that while I would try to skip walking and see if that helped them at all; I could do OTHER exercise. So I spent time doing a mix of stretching and strength training and having fun doing all kinds of crazy exercises with my mediball. Rather than giving in, I changed things around emoticon

I still need to work out what to do about my feet - whether visit a podiatrist, a physiotherapist, keep walking and see if the problems vanish in time or get worse; but I'm glad for the decisions I made today.

Great job changing it up. I ride my recumbent bike when my feet hurt. Maybe you need to change shoes. I found some good walking shoes to be the "rolling walkers" or the ones that they say help tone your legs.....Since they have a large center area they provide more arch support and made my feet feel better.

I have foot problems to. I found a Medirub machine on ebay that helps a lot. You should look it up and read about it. I also bought an insert called superfeet that seem to work for me too. Plus i change shoes every other day, one with the insert and same exact shoe without. I have no health insurance so am doing what I can without going to a doc. Good luck to us both. Hate my old feet.

I think it is actually better when you vary your exercise and don't focus on just one aspect of your body. Walking is important, but so is strength training and stretching, etc. They all work on different parts of the body. Movement is the important thing. Just keep moving!

God bless!

emoticon I visited and kept going to a Podiatrist for two years ago. My insurance would not cover my surgery at the last day/moment despite my prep/hospital before admission test. and I could not be in a wheelchair for 6 weeks told "advice". I am glad I didn't! have the surgery. We keep walking by faith, as He did, Isa. 53:7 How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"
Eh, at least we did not have nails pounded into our feet. I really, am following your posts here and elsewhere. What I like about SP is that one actually gets comments and email notes.
We'll do this here, until we can resurrect your Step by Step (Challenge) posts on GT. Oh yeah, and those graphics which you created. emoticon We will walk and rejoice again! Thank you for finding me. You always made my steps peppy. Happy weekend!

I am sorry to hear about your foot problem. Is this something new? You did the right thing by finding an alternative workout. My weight watcher leader always stresses to find something, anything is better than nothing.

Sounds like you enjoyed it!
I hope you discover what is going on with your feet. God bless your day.... emoticon
