Chia and Flax seeds

From what I read, these little seeds are very healthy for us. I know in some articles it talks about grinding or soaking them to get the best results. I enjoy chewing on the flax seeds whole but will sometimes grind them to add them to a recipe. The chia seeds I just sprinkle on things or add to smoothies. This is a new element added since my last Dr. visit so will be interesting to see if any or all of what I am doing is helping those internal numbers go in the right directions.

I am thankful today for good friends. One of my friends is coming out and we are planning a manicure, shopping, lunch and a movie. So excited!!

    Flax Chocolate Cake In A Mug

    4T flaxseed meal
    4T Stevia by Nu Naturals or sweetener of choice
    2T cocoa powder unsweetened
    1 egg
    3T applesauce unsweetened
    3T skim milk
    Splash vanilla

    Mix dry then add wet and stir well in a big soup mug.
    Microwave 1 to 3 minutes. Mine takes 1 min and 45 seconds on high.
    Turn out onto plate and top with crushed fruit like strawberries if you like.

    This is very filling and doubles as dinner and dessert for me.

    I've just been reading about chia seeds and really need to start incorporating them into my diet, flax seeds as well. Sounds like you can sprinkle them on just about anything.

    I have ground flaxseed every day with my breakfast of fiber one and greek yogurt. I love the nutty flavor and know it's good for me..
