"Go To" Foods

I am now on the lookout for handy foods, alternatives for munchie attacks. Trying to get away from cheese and crackers, moose tracks ice cream. Am gaining a new appreciation for grapes, hard boiled eggs and rice cakes.

    I am lucky that I am not a junk eater and like healthy foods so some almonds or a fruit satisfies. When I am in that rare mood for something sweet or feeling very anxious and thinking about going back to old ways and eating, I pop a sees sucker in my mouth. They are only 80 calories and takes an hour to eat the entire thing. I have something in my mouth, can think and by the end I have resolved not to go back to old ways. They are my emergency food that works so well for me.

    I like almonds. I keep a small baggie of them in my computer bag, comes in handy when I travel for work so I don't get tempted to pick up junk. 12 almonds are around 82 calories.

    Gaining an appreciation for healthier snacks to me is an "AHA" moment. Been there and still can't believe I can grab a bunch of grapes and be satisfied. Have a great weekend.

    I love grape tomatoes. They are my candy. Rice cakes with a little peanut butter and a banana sliced on top are yummy too. Weight Watchers has some good ice cream treats - I love ice cream. Their Giant Fudge Bars and their Ice cream "candy" bars are good too.

  I like my light Greek yogart. It has 2x the proteins and comes in different flavors.

    I like my apple a day, try different varieties. Apples are very portable and easy to eat anytime. Sometimes I use my apple corer-slicer to cut my apple into smaller pieces for quick bites. I love cheese and crackers too - just need to limit how often and how much I use this for munchie attacks. I also try to drink a glass of water before I put anything in my mouth. What else have you found for handy foods? Healthy handy foods is a great goal!
