I want to buy stuff

Saturday, April 06, 2013

It was such a nice day yesterday. It finally felt like spring here in the midwest, almost 60. So I didn't get to the gym, but took a long walk instead. Well, long for me & DS14, 30 min. I'm back to the gym today. It's my big workout day.

I want to buy stuff. I want a new HRM, my old one is only picking up half my heart rate. So when I'm at rest, it reads 30. I'd be almost dead! I've had it a year. Maybe it just needs new batteries. But I suspect the sensor on one side is shot. My friend at work recommended the Polar FT4. I've seen it on Amazon for $65. I also want some heavier dumbbells: 15 and 20 pound sets. That way I can a good workout at home, too. My pt has me doing step up and squats holding 20 pounds; and bicep curls & shoulder presses with 15 pounds.

And lastly, I have a yen for a fire pit. I have a romantic notion of sitting out on the patio at night with DS14 by the glow of the fire. But who am I kidding? He'd rather be inside sitting by the glow of the computer. And maybe me too. I'm just not an outdoorsy person.

Speaking of computers, I also want a new webcam. I have a little logictech, you know one of the ball shaped ones with rather poor quality. I'm thinking of getting a new one, and doing some vlog entries. I've seen this one on Amazon for $50. What do you think?

I just ordered the Polar FT4 HRM from Mobile PC for $52. When I buy stuff online, I do a quick google search for "mobile pc coupon code" and I got an additional $10 off. Also, after the order, I got a $100 offer...it wasn't worth it. After doing a biz rate survey, I got an offer for a year of magazine subscription. I thought I would get $100 credit for Mobile PC. Quite misleading.

Funny thing happened to me Easter Sunday... my oldest DD was over for dinner. We went outside afterward with the DGDs for a game of kickball. DD asked as we went through the backyard, "Is that a fire pit? I'd didn't take you and Dad as the fire pit type." LOL! I pointed out that the second one was just over there! So what is the "fire pit type?"

We use our fire pit all the time and go through them pretty quickly as they are more utility rather than ambiance! We have a several trees around our house and a wooded back yard, so firewood and kindling is never wanting. The more active my DH and I have become, the more we enjoy working in the yard and later relaxing around the fire pit. Have to admit however, that rather than my romantic side, it brings out my inner child to play girl scout again. Somemores anyone?
