Day 27: Gardening marathon

Saturday, April 06, 2013

It was a gorgeous day here in CT so I spent it in the garden! What a work-out! I spent 8-plus hours raking, bending, digging and lifting heavy bags of mulch and garden soil. My back is killing me and I am exhausted----yet elated that I was able to do it.

Just a few short weeks ago, I could not have spent even one hour gardening. Even though I had to take periodic breaks, there's a dramatic difference in my stamina AND my pants kept falling down, so I changed into an old pair of leggings-- a sure sign that more weight has been lost!

It will soon be time to retake my measurements and I KNOW there will be positive change! Going back out to the garden tomorrow if the weather's nice!

GREAT job...I'm still jealous of your gardening, since it's still so crappy here in Minnesota. I swear we will miss spring altogether and go right into summer. I can't wait to get out and dig and rake and other heavy-duty fat-burning activities like that! I used to mow our lawn here at my dad's house, but he hired some high school kids to do it when it got too hard for me. I'm hoping to be more in shape by June to do it again.

Have a great day outdoors and enjoy your gardening! emoticon

Sounds wonderful. Love those first warm days. Hoping we have one here. Forecast is for 62 degrees so it isn't too bad. Planning to play golf and that's a good thing! emoticon
