What's up with this?

Friday, April 05, 2013

After reading all the stuff about conditions and medications, and finding info that strength training is vital, I got up this morning rarin' to go and popped in No More Trouble Zones. 35 minutes into the workout, my muscles just turned to jelly and I had to stop. I couldn't even do the floor exercises. What a weakling! No...the thing is that I've been doing monster amounts of cardio without much strength. I do believe that I've lost some muscle tone, and definitely muscular endurance. I can jump around for hours, but those five-pound weights (and halfway through I switched to 2 pound weights) just kicked my butt. I have no energy.

Maybe I'll start the 30 Day Shred over from the beginning. If I can combine that with making sure to add enough protein to my diet, that might be something.

I feel your pain! My poor saddlebags couldn't muster the side leg lifts and I just collapsed! Sadly she was only into the first of five or six similar exercises! But I have to be thankful for the small victory of doing some versus none! So you too be thankful for the progress, it gets easier!

The first few weeks of using weights can really take it out of you.
You'll build more endurance with time.
    Much SUCCESS!
