Thought and Prayer for Friday, April 5, 2013

Friday, April 05, 2013

As we rush through the day, the week and the month, we are busy trying to get everything done so we can finish and rest or do something for ourselves. We get so busy at times we forget that there are people out there who are in need. We say we have too much to do but do we really? What is it we are doing that is so important that we can’t take time to help out someone in need. When we help and care for others, we are being the friend God wants us to be.

Matthew 25:36 “I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we know we can’t do all things but we know there are things we are doing in our lives that is keeping us from helping and caring for others. Show us today what it is You want us to do to help someone. Show us what we need to give up so we can be a friend who cares to someone knowing that when we care for someone we are caring for Jesus as well. Let others see Jesus in us today. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

There is something that each of us could give up today so we can help out a friend or even a stranger.

Knowing that God wants us to be a caring friend and help others is incentive enough to begin doing that today.

God wants us to love and pray for others but He also wants us to take action and care for others. What can we do to help someone today?

When we stop what we are doing and care for someone else in need, we are caring for Jesus as well.

Matthew 25:40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’” (NLT)

1 Timothy 5:8 “But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.” (NLT)
