Spring has sprung, hopefully.

Busy week behind me, thank goodness. My parents came for Easter and I am finally getting back into my routine. It was the first time I saw my mom since her surgery and she seems a lot better than the last time they were here.

I made my kids at work each a jelly bean pooping duck. They were a big hit and I had one parent ask if I sold them. His mom does craft shows and she loved the duck I gave her granddaughter. Of course that got me back into the mood to work on my Etsy shop. I have pictures of the flock of ducks I made this year that I will try to upload this weekend so you can see them.

Now I am back on bookmarks. I made five last night and already have at least one buyer. I'll post pictures of them as well. I also found a new bookmark to make that I went shopping for today. Those and a few necklaces should be a good start for Etsy. I got tired of the ducks before getting enough made to post so I may try making a few here and there so I can spread them out through the year.

The sun is shining and the snow is melting so I am thinking about starting my lunchtime walks again. A few girls have started, but I have only gone once because I've been an idiot and wearing the wrong shoes to work. Time to put my walking shoes back in the car.

This weekend messed with my eating habits. I did the cooking so it wasn't bad, for the most part. The problem is the leftovers. I didn't want it to go to waste so I ate more than I would normally and I guess used myself as a garbage can before I dumped everything. Now I am working to get back into my normal foods. Joined a new spark challenge today to help me get motivated.

Oh, the job search is still going nowhere. What I wanted stopped being important a long time ago. My in-law's taught my husband to need the best in life instead of living within your means. Instead of cutting back on things we don't need (like big screen tvs) they feel the answer is in making more money. Therefore I hear about not making enough money quite regularly. Even if I made more I'm sure they'd find something else I needed to change. I'm working on a plan for that.

Wow. You are a crafty lady. Are you also a teacher?

Working on crafts For Etsy is a great extra little income. I have a children's clothing business, but it's not going very far, very fast.

My dad was like your in-laws. It took many years for me to teach him that money isn't everything. A job that drives you crazy isn't good even if it pays a lot.

I think it's awesome that you're making those craft projects and hope you can make a little extra money with it. That'd be awesome. And hopefully the good weather will continue so you can get out walking again. I'm sure that'll be helpful for you.

I really think it's awful the way your in laws treat you. If I was in your place I'd probably go off on them saying they need to back off. They do not give you the credit and respect you deserve. I hope things get better on that front soon.
