"One, Two, buckle my shoe...Three, Four shut the door" and get to work!!
Several SP blogs have made me face my procrastination again. And that's good!
YES! Thanks to you all!
I "suffer" from the "but first..." syndrome as well as the look-the-other-way habit.
Inventory:Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen as well as our bedroom are free of extraneous paper, though we could chuck some of the many books, I think, if we'd only purchase one of those new fangled "reading machines".
Checklist: My "study": dresser and ottoman remain clear of paper and books! Remarkable! But look at that bed and the desk...Both totally buried again in the month since I last worked on this project.
To Do: So obviously I must begin with cleaning these two flat surfaces.
1. The desk has mostly books. Good. That should be easy because I use these all the time, so don't have to go through the Give-Toss-Keep sequence (just yet anyway) for them. "A place for everything and everything in its place." There, the books are done. Now that wasn't bad, Nell, was it?...Oh oh...underneath...an addressed envelope, but no letter to put in it yet. Stuff it in one of the cubbyholes (that I carefully cleared out in February). Save the AARP phone number for next year's taxes and toss the paper. Lots of notes on various bIble studies I'm part of doing...stick them into a folder to deal with later...catalogues-save two, toss rest... scribbled notes, phone numbers, and the beginning of a song I'm writing - put in to-do folder. Throw out all the rest...Whew..desk top is cleared off again!
Break: Don fleece, scarf, hat, go out and count the daffodil shoots...There were three on
Tuesday...Twelve up today! They are making progress! Spring has sprung in this
corner under our dining room picture window. ...... Back to work...
2. The bed..Oh, here's the SooNipi Magazine for Spring...oooo, an article about the Claremont-Concord railway and another about Timber Framing...and...Growing up in... STOP...put it by your "reading chair"....o.k...
Here's a stack of letters and cards...more notes - into a folder "for future reference"
There...all cleared, ready for a nap
I don't even know what day it is on my Ticker Tape (will check that out tomorrow). But I do know that I have to get going and finish this paper shuffle. The room is so stuffed
, it's got me
. How can I even wash the window panes if I can't get to them?
