Blood tests next week...

Thursday, April 04, 2013

Finally saw a Doctor over the amount of illnesses I have been suffering.

Since October I have been ill nearly every couple of weeks, barely recovering before the next one arrives.

So, rather irritatingly I have to go to the Hospital to get blood tests as they don't do them at the surgery (unless you are 60+) and be there at 8am, fasting test, with NO appointment, just turn up and wait.

Dr predicts a 2 hour + wait!

So instead of what I thought, pop to surgery for an 8am appointment and be at work by 8.30 (meant to start at 8) I have to take a day off unpaid medical leave, drive out to hospital and sit and wait.

But I really hope I can get an answer.

There has been so much viral infections and stuff going around this year. We barely start to feel better before the next one hits. I've been in that endless cycle the first three months of this year. Feeling better now! Hope you get better quickly.

If they can sort you out it is worth the waiting.

I hope that the results are good! I see you had them done and I hope that the wait was not too lengthy.

Hope they can sort you out ok. (((hugs)))
They have changed it here too, and I now have a highly inconvenient journey (no car, so it takes two buses to get there) to get bloodtests done, when it used to be a simple case of an appointment at the drs which is a few minutes walk up the road. So sick of the changes for the worse within the NHS these days.

Good luck and bring a snack or some juice!
Same thing for me here. My doctor only does blood work one day a week. You have an appointment, and by that I mean you sit in the waiting room for 2 hours waiting to be called. Once they scheduled me for 11 am, fasting, and I'm a diabetic!

    good luck!!!

Blood work always makes me faint, so they let me lay down when they draw it.

I hope too that you can get an answer. The not knowing can sometimes be the hardest. Sorry about the unpaid day - that adds stress too. I care.

new NHS rules from April 1st will see more changes which are not convenient. When we moved from Wales to Kent we found there were things we couldn't get so easily.
Whatever they are looking for should be sorted, the NHS does still work (just!)

Pookie, I really hope that you get the answers that you are looking for. It's really too bad that your doctor doesn't do those tests in his office. My love, hugs, and prayers come out to you. emoticon
