Felt so good to eat some proper healthy food!

I am just starting out on my weight loss journey so haven't yet go those first thrills from exercising and seeing the scales change. And I first joined Sparkpeople a long time ago (2008) and did nothing then, so I am not getting too excited until I trust myself that I am going to stick with things. However I am feeling more optimistic this time partly due to getting more involved and logging on for several days straight, listening to the Audible audio book of "The Spark" which is like a voice in my ear telling me all good stuff, and I felt proud of keeping a food diary for a week which may seem easy but as we all know "Things which are easy to do are also easy not to do" (Jim Rohn). I have an appointment tomorrow with my doctor's practice nurse to discuss the diary and get her suggestions for changes I could make. However I have already thought of one myself. For a few years I have got a big giant grocery delivery from the Tesco supermarket near me, roughly every two weeks. As you can guess with it being so infrequent I could only order a few fresh items since these lasted a couple of days and there was limited room in the fridge. However I have decided now I am going to make the false economy of saving on delivery charges and just get a weekly delivery, so I can have more healthy stuff. So my latest shop arrived yesterday and included 3 side salads, cottage cheese with pineapple, brown bread, little snack boxes of raisins, almonds, and other healthy stuff and more importantly NO frozen pizzas, chocolate or crisps. Today I had a delicious tortilla wrap with turkey, low-fat cheese and salad and it felt GREAT to be eating proper food not just frozen ready meals. Just now I had a little afternoon snack of raisins and almonds where I might have had tea and biscuits in the past. I know it will take time before any changes are reflected on the scales but I am feeling a boost to my self-esteem just from having bought one week's worth of health food and I am pleased that after my previous false start this time at least I am starting properly with a serious intention to lose weight and have fun doing it!

    The audio book sounds like a great idea! Where did you get it from? I'd love to be able to Spark whilst I jog.
