The Day After Water Zumba

Thursday, April 04, 2013

I should have spent the entire evening celebrating with my son. Your comments yesterday warmed my heart. I do have many blessings to be thankful for.
emoticon to you all.

Does anyone know the number for Sven ...the handsome, strong Swedish masseuse?
Actually pain started before the session was even over. Today my lower back is screaming: "What were you thinking!!!"
What I was thinking was to expand my horizons and I found out that water Zumba is not for me. The aching pain does dull my appetite. Thankfully I have some muscle rub that is easing the tension. Hopefully my recover will be quick.

Am I sorry that I tried it yes and no...
"Yes" because of the way I currently feel.
And "No" because nothing ventured nothing gained. If I hadn't tried it I would have wondered if I should have. It could have been something that would complement what I am currently doing or something to work toward. I am constantly changing. I am not the same as I was 20 years ago or even six months ago. Because of the constant changes happening, exploring new options is inviting, exciting and invigorating even if I am sore the next day.

I'm with TRAVELGIRL! Slowly, gently and with modifications . . . yeah! Life is like that pretty much . . . .

Perhaps they should have newbies in the back doing an easier version of the class, like they do on exercise shows, "If you are new, follow Jen's exaample." Or- Zumba Gold for the pool.

So sorry for your suffering but if you go again (modify) I think you will hurt less and love the accomplishment.

Well, sounds like at best, as TRAVELGIRL said, if you DO try water zumba again, the key would be modifying the moves till you get used to it. But that is usually the way with ANY exercise you're new to and makes you sore. Kudos to you for trying it!

HUGS and glad you had a good time w/your son.

I am sorry it didn't work out for you last night...but did you LIKE it? Do you think you could modify some of the moves until your muscles adapted? This can be a fine line, of course. I modify lots and lots of moves in my classes, but I HAVE found that many things I couldn't even think of doing a year ago are now possible. And, I have also learned that I can live with a certain level of soreness. It goes away faster than it used to. (And Ibuprophen helps a lot!) emoticon

Aqua Zumba is fun, but it is exercise against the resistance of the water. I hope your muscles feel better soon.
