Thank you everyone for your positive thoughts and suggestions. My main goal is to hydrate! I will be looking for coconut water and adding lemon to my water. I will also drink the Gatorade.

It's funny though, as I said before that I was so into fruits and veggies and not so much meat. But I am changing my thinking and am committed to doing what the doctor recommends. But it is hard to eat all those things that you worked so hard to limit when losing weight and maintaining. It's kind of scary. I thought yesterday that I ate a lot. Big hamburger, potato chips, 2 big slabs of provolone cheese, egg....I was a bit worried about the scale but have already told myself that right now the scale is not as important to me as feeling well. So here's the weird news.....I was down to 107.5 this morning. What is up with that? So today I will eat more protein again and not as much fruits and veggies. Maybe I will have my DH grill some steaks or pork loin.
Even better news is that I feel good today. I will get the hang of this!

    I'm glad you're feeling better. My uneducated and ignorant guess on the weight would be that your previous high-fiber diet trapped a lot of water in your digestive tract, and as that clears you're carrying less around. I could be totally wrong there, but you might find a different happy weight on the new diet than on the old diet.

    Something else to think about is, how low is too low? I tend to not feel as fit if I let my weight drop below 160. I can easily go there; but I'd rather feel healthy and fit.

    Sallie, you are so inspiring to me! I love the way you're fine-tuning your eating to see if a higher percentage of protein helps. And grilled pork loin steaks! Well, m'dear... I just had lunch, but my mouth is watering! Sounds soooo delicious! Enjoy your delicious appetite was always phenomenal when I lived in Mexico. Everything's so fresh and delicious! emoticon

    It DOES seem counter-intuitive, like eating more to lose. (I can't get into the hang of that, either!)

    So glad you are feeling better. Keep up the good work of investigating what works best for your body. Can you get salmon where you are? That has healthy fat and protein.

    So glad you are feeling better Sallie! One of my favorite breakfasts is sauteed spinach with a scrambled egg and a little parm cheese and some fruit. Healthy and keeps me full for a long time. And way to go on the weight, but glad you are more focused on your health right now.
