Thursday AM with Cathe and the week in general

Thursday, April 04, 2013

Good Morning!

I haven't been good about posting. There just doesn't seem to be enough time in thd day I've been crazy busy at work and the last thing I've been wanting to do is get on the computer after I've been on it all day.

I've been bringing work home and not doing it. That sux.

We go back to our regular summer hours next week and my budget can't be happier.

So, let's review the week.

Monday, I tried to press play but my mom had spent the night (Easter Dinner) and well, Zoe doesn't seem to care much for my mom and she woke me every time my mom breathed wrong (Pekingese think they are bad A$$'s). Roxie wasn't even happy about my mom spending the night.

Anyway, I woke up exhausted and just couldn't find the energy to even pretend to want to do a workout so I turned it off.

Tuesday, I did a half hour Zumba class on my kenect.

Yesterday, I worked out with Cathe and did a circuit premix from To the Max.

Today, I worked out with Cathe and did Xtrain Hard strikes...but only the cardio portion, which made my workout about 30 min.

I'm still really exhausted.

Tim and I have been working on our debt free journey and we've been selling some of our crap...which has been an interesting project.

I am amazed at how much some of our crap is worth. We are talking (shhhh) gifts we didn't ask for, didn't want, didn't need and have been sitting around collecting dust. Some of it is still in the original packaging and in the closet. We made enough to pay off a couple of our small bills and put some money in the bank to save for some tires for my hubby's car. Thing is...we've got so much more crap to sell.

One of the questions we ask ourselves is, "do you want to move that down 3 flights of stairs? Would you enjoy seeing it again if we put it in the storage in the basement?

We have storage in the basement....it's been crammed full of stuff since my hubby moved in. Then, there's my closet's. They're are crammed, too!

When Tim met me 7 years ago, he came over and asked if I had just moved in. I had been here almost 2 years. I just get tired of stuff so it's nice to see some of it going to a new home.

Anyway, that's enough rambling. Must get a move on and motivate myself to get to work and face my day....

Hope everyone has a spectacular day!

    Hi, Celeste!

We are doing the same thing you are, right now. That is, getting rid of clutter and old things we were given, but never used. Just like you, some of the stuff is still in the original packaging! We have cleaned out our pantry of a bunch of un needed stuff, so now have more room for the food which is what the purpose of the thing is, anyway!

Also have a lot of antiques to get rid of that we have collected over the years. If we are going to be full time RV'ers, we certainly can't take it with us!

Take care, my friend.............Thinking of you...... emoticon

We took Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace Class and it was truly an eye opening experience. So is budgeting. Wow! The budget!

I used to feel so guilty that I didn’t feel excited about people spending money on me…being disappointed with the gifts given. Not wanting to sound ungrateful…but…Holding onto items because the person spent hard earned money on something they got me and I would just put it in the closet. I have some many of these things….It’s really sad.

I know it seems impersonal, but I’ve always been a gift card person. I don’t like to waste my time or anyone else’s. This year we disturbed the world and told everyone, no gifts. Our excuse was getting the condo ready to rent but we really enjoyed the holiday this year because there was no stress. There was no worrying about braving the crowds to purchase stuff for people because they were buying us something.

We had a couple awkward moments…but we got through it. And we were less stressed because of it.

We also didn’t do Christmas cards and because of that, we didn’t get many so it was nice not to have a big pile of cards to throw away.

I’m one that does not appreciate cut flowers. They will sit on the counter well past their death because I don’t have the heart to throw them away. It took a while for my husband to really understand why I didn't want cut flowers. Once he figured it out….life was great!

He used to stop and get me starbucks coffee or chi tea. Well, we all know how expensive that is. It was a nice gesture…but expensive. When we did our first financial peace class…Tim finally understood why I didn't appreciate starbucks as much. Now, he will show up at work with homemade coffee with my favorite creamer, just because. Or he’ll just bring the girls (or dogs) and just visit.

It really is the simple things that make my life complete.

Isn't it amazing how much "crap" we continue to take in. So many folks think they have an income problem, NO, it's a spending problem. No wonder they don't see how our present administration is doing the wrong thing to help America get out of debt. Keep up the good work and get rid of all those things that you don't need. Clutter just fogs our minds.

You are doing awesome! I'm so happy that the two of you can work on stream-lining your life together. I live with a pack-rat, sigh!

You are doing wonderful on your exercise, and it's ok to be tired. You'll bounce back.

Glad you can turn your "crap" into some useful hard cash. I clean out my cupboards every 6 months, so if things get tough financially.....going to my cupboards wont help emoticon
