Thought and Prayer for Thursday, April 4, 2013

How many people do we have who we call loyal and reliable friends? How many friends do we have we can really depend on? If we aren’t happy with the number, the best way to increase that number is to be sure we are being a loyal friend to them. Many of us feel we are loyal and reliable friends, but we aren’t. Now is a good time to examine what actions we take to show our friends they can depend on us. Let’s make sure only good comes from us to and about them. Let’s examine our hearts, thoughts, and our attitudes about our friends. It’s time we act like the loyal and reliable friend we want others to be.

Proverbs 20:6 “Many will say they are loyal friends, but who can find one who is truly reliable?” (NLT)

Dear Lord, we are so quick to point out those friends who betray us, who talk about us, who we can’t depend on. Help us to stop talking about them and be a loyal friend to them. Let them see Jesus in us and know that we are there for them no matter what. Thank You for the opportunity today to be a loyal and reliable friend to someone. Keep us away all through the day of Your will for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we are loyal friends to others, we can know we are living as God wants us to live.

A dependable and reliable friend may not always be a fun friend, but we can’t always rely on fun to help us in the hard times.

God wants us to be a reliable and loyal friend to others so we can set the godly example to them about how great He truly is.

When others see Jesus in us, they will see a loyal and reliable friend.

A loyal friend is a friend indeed! Be one today.

Proverbs 17:17 “A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.” (NLT)
