Against all odds!

Thursday, April 04, 2013

I do appreciate all the suggestions on yesterday's blog--and they helped me---
They also inspired me to carry on Sparkin'----that there are more people out there doing the same as I am----""trying very hard""---

We went to McDonald's last night--(Doesn't sound like I'm trying very hard does it? LOL)---..............Himself wanted to go-----(LOL----Of course I didn't say ""no"")--but--I did take my own salad (We ate in the car)- and I ordered a Filet of Fish----
I was Optimistic that I might keep the calories down---

But-----.........I am still the same ----the weight has not budged----
But--going with the ""optimistic" thing-----the weight hasn't gone up---

Spark says--sustained, consistent acts of self improvement, breeds confidence, builds momentum, and puts you on the winning side of "'losing''----
Does that make any sense?---

Lord love a Duck--it's early---
Son #2 the Pilot is out in Newfoundland---
He flew over us all in the night---
So---Good Morning all you "'Sparkly people"" out there----

Yum - I like Filet O Fish too! 410 calories with 20 g. fat (4 saturated and .2 trans), 580 mg. sodium - oh, oh!! And there's the rub, too much sodium and fat - apparently us Canadians like our salt far too much. Darn.

Have you tried McDonald's Tuscan Grilled Chicken salad? It is served with a garlic yogourt dressing. It is 460 calories, so it is not an every day sort of thing, but if you only go once in a while, it is a nice treat. And I find delicious and filling!

Good job! I will occasionally eat at McD's when the grandkids need some indoor climbing. I usually order the Southwest Chicken Salad with grilled chicken. It comes with a lime wedge that I use instead of the dressing. Not bad for a fast food lunch. I think it is important that we learn to live a normal life while eating within our nutritional means.

Keep on keeping on - I'm sure your consistency will pay off.

I always enjoy your blogs. I got a laugh out of you taking your own salad to McDonalds. emoticon

Have a great day.

Hang in there! Just logging activity and calories, and staying within your range will eventually get you where you'd like to be!
