Update a week later

Thursday, April 04, 2013

The accident remains in all my waking moments and all night every night.
If you are wondering what I'm writing about please read my previous blog for clarity.
All my days and nights are filled with flashbacks of the accident and tears flow easily.
We all came so very close to death and remain grateful we didn't transition to the other side.
They say time takes time.
My condo has over $100,000.00 worth of damage and will take 6 to 18 months to repair the damage.
I will have to continue this blog tomorrow because I have been up for 72 hours straight.
At this point my brain is made of wet sand.
Will blog again tomorrow.
Night all

Maybe you should see a professional about this. If the person who had the accident has insurance it should pay for it. emoticon

Awe! I am so sorry about this...
The trauma of it may need some intervention to move past. That and being out of your home for the length of time it takes for the condo to be repaired is even more difficult.

Please know that I am praying that some wonderful wisdom, peace, and rest comes your way very soon!
Hugs

Prayers for you and that someone can get in gear and get your home repaired sooner rather than later so something can be normal in your lives!

I am in prayer for you and your family. I understand how you feel. It is so hard when your "safe zone" is compromised. I agree with Chelsea PTSD can be an issue with such an occurence. Don't tell yourself that you don't have trauma from it. Your sleep is already invaded with reliving the accdident. Please seek help. Some churches have a Stephen's Ministry that is free and really helpful. I will continue to lift you up in prayer that the whole process goes according to plan.

I don't know the legalities but I surely hope you got a lawyer!! I am sure there is a police report about it all which they will need. Also, please, see a therapist or visit a community mental health place. For acute PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), the results are amazing when people get help right away. I am sharing this because I know you have so much going on and when I have had severe problems and my brain is muddled, other people's ideas and support have helped me through.

Hang in there and know that no matter what, when you return, we will all be here for you. Take care, dear SP friend. Love, Chelsea emoticon emoticon emoticon

I know someone who went through this very thing when a dumptruck slammed into their house and severed the gas lines. No one was hurt but they were out of their house for a long time. However, time passes and it was a long time ago. One day all of this will be behind you and it will be an amazing story to tell your grandkids and great grandkids.

Sweet friend, be very gentle with yourself. Allow the tears to come. Random violence like yours is just as traumatic as any other. Keep working your way through it day by day and you will get better. Expect only as much of yourself as you can give. You are doing just fine.
